North West based law firm Gorvins Solicitors has once again achieved Top Tier rankings for Commercial Property and Commercial Litigation in this year’s Legal 500 directory. 15 lawyers were recommended across 13 practice areas. Senior Partner Mark Deverell was listed amongst the national “elite leading individuals” and the firm saw new entries in Property Litigation and Construction.
The Firm’s Commercial Property team were recognised as leaders in real estate for their lead on the Urban Splash Group disposal of a portfolio of apartments to Places for People. ‘Experienced’ team head Martin Hoare was recommended alongside Managing Partner Lorraine Lockie.
Within Commercial Litigation the ‘knowledgeable’ Tier 1 team were recognised for delivering ‘a high level of service’ with head Mark Deverell being described as ‘very client focused’ along with Guy Lightowler and Michael Morris.
Gorvins’ ‘efficient’ Corporate Commercial team achieved a Tier 2 ranking in the Manchester region. Partner and Head of Department Andrew Curwen was described as ‘practical’, Consultant Paul Lupton ‘very experienced’ and Christian Mancier as ‘thorough and calm’.
The Employment team were ranked with particular recognition for Employee expertise. Several of the team were recommended including the Head of Employment David Walton whose ‘knowledge and expertise in the employment field were noted as exceptional’ as well as Senior Associate Ed Gregory being described as ‘assured and calm’.
Gorvins’ Private Client teams have been praised particularly well in the 2015 directory with three departments achieving an increase in rank. The Wills, Trusts & Probate department were noted as being ‘very approachable and caring’ and Head of Department, Christine Thornley is particularly noted for her ‘compassionate yet sensible nature when making difficult decisions.’
Sally Leaman, Head of Gorvins’ Family team has been praised for her work with private children law disputes, divorce and her niche in police divorce work. She ‘stands out for her calm and reassuring approach.’
The Property Litigation team was ranked for the first time and noted for being ‘extremely knowledgeable’ under the direction of team head Guy Lightowler.
The firm also achieved ranks in Debt Recovery, Insolvency and Corporate Recovery, Personal Injury, Construction and Intellectual Property with five lawyers achieving recommendations.
