Experts from Gorvins commercial property and property litigation teams have joined forces with the Stockport Town Centre Business & Retail Group to pioneer a new initiative and forum for commercial landlords and agents.
The group, which has been set up as Stockport Town Centre Commercial Landlords and Agents Forum with the main aim to provide a platform for advice, information and discussion on issues affecting the property sector in the town.
The launch event which took place at The Apprenticeship Store, Grand Central in June, saw attendees from local and regional landlords and agents gather together to begin shaping the property landscape in and around Stockport town centre.
Gorvins property Partners Martin Hoare, Joint Head of Commercial Property and Guy Lightowler, Head of Property Litigation, gave an update on the latest laws and regulations affecting landlords.
The Council’s Business Rates team brought people up to speed on the changes to business rates that have taken place in the last 12 months. This was followed by a short presentation on the ‘Stockport Town Centre Access Package’: investments and plans covering a package of measures to improve accessibility and connectivity into and around the Town Centre by all modes of transport and to ease congestion.
“One of the town centre’s great strengths is its connectivity. This package builds on this solid foundation and supports the growth aspirations which we all share”
Martin Hoare at Gorvins commented “this new Forum is all about giving landlords and agents in Stockport and surrounds a regular voice going forward on property issues affecting them.”
“The launch event was a great success,” he said. “There were plenty of topical discussions and we look forward to the continued Forum in the future.”
