South Manchester’s largest law firm, Gorvins, has acted on behalf of Peter Higham of Higham & Co in Manchester on the sale of its experienced planning business to WYG, a global management and technical consultancy.
The strategic acquisition by WYG safeguards the position of the highly respected Higham and Co team at WYG’s office in Media City while presenting WYG with a unique opportunity to expand its planning offer.
Higham & Co is an established firm of chartered planning and property advisors. Its six chartered town planners have over 23 years’ experience.
Founder Peter Higham said: “Merging Higham & Co into WYG will create a number of synergies which will greatly benefit the client base of both firms.
“I am particularly excited at the prospect of working within a team that includes experts in a wide range of different planning disciplines including environmental, highways and engineering.”
Christian Mancier, corporate and commercial partner at Gorvins, acted for Higham & Co.
Commenting on Christian’s involvement, Peter Higham said: “He carried out all the negotiations in the matter, explaining every aspect of a somewhat complicated process with great clarity, and I am pleased to say we achieved very satisfactory result in a relatively short space of time.”
Christian said that it had been a pleasure working with the two firms.
“We concluded a successful and speedy transaction which provides great opportunities for growth and immediate advantages for both organisations and their clients.”
Higham & Co will be based at WYG’s Salford office at Quay West, MediaCity.
