As we approach the end of another year, it’s a fitting time to reflect on the journey we’ve shared at Gorvins. This year has been one of notable growth, both in turnover and staff numbers, a testament to the hard work and dedication of everyone at our firm. Our success is not just a measure in figures; it’s reflected in the quality of service we provide to our clients and the positive impact we have in Stockport and beyond.
Growing a new department
Our journey this year has been marked by significant milestones. We welcomed a new department – Crime and Regulatory – and have been actively recruiting throughout the year to support their burgeoning growth. This expansion underscores our commitment to offering comprehensive legal services to our clients.
Growth across the firm
Another highlight has been the growth of our Military Personal Injury (PI) team. With the introduction of another fee earner, we’ve bolstered our capacity to assist current and former military personnel in securing the compensation they rightfully deserve. This team’s renown, expertise and success are a source of great pride for our firm. Growth has been a common theme across all our teams. Each department has welcomed new members, contributing to our collective goal of driving the business forward and providing unparalleled service to our clients. This collective effort is a cornerstone of our ethos at Gorvins.
Recognition for our leading lawyers
We’ve also celebrated significant recognition of our legal talent. Gary Boyd and Claire Beaumont were newly ranked as leading lawyers in the latest Legal 500. Elsewhere in the firm, leading lawyer status was retained by Mark Deverall, Andrew Curwen, Martin Hoare, Guy Lightowler and Christian Mancier.
Rowan Uren was shortlisted for Rising Star of the Year in the corporate category at the Legal 500 Northern Powerhouse Awards, and Gary Boyd for Lawyer of the Year in the insurance category. These accolades reflect the high standard of our lawyers and their commitment to excellence.
Our young lawyers taking a lead in Stockport
A special mention must go to Future Stockport, a young professionals networking group featuring three of our staff members – Danielle Hewitt, Laura Crawford, and Natalia Frize – on the founding committee. This initiative highlights our commitment to supporting the growth and development of Stockport, our home for over a century. Our roots in this community run deep, and we are proud to serve clients both regionally and internationally from this base. At the same time it is worth mentioning that we have had to of our colleagues reach 35 years with the practice and 15 who now have 20 years with us.
Wishing you all a fantastic Christmas break
As we look forward to 2024, we’re excited about the opportunities that lie ahead. We remain committed to growth, excellence, and above all, serving our clients with the utmost dedication and professionalism.
Finally, as the holiday season approaches, I wish everyone a time of rest, relaxation, and joyous moments with friends and family. May this festive period bring you happiness and a well-deserved break.
Here’s to a successful year behind us and an even brighter one ahead. Happy holidays and a prosperous New Year to all.
